Our Farming Roots

Nestled in the heart of Cookham, Berkshire, The Copas Farm Shop is the living extension of the Copas family's farming legacy, which dates back to 1901. For over a century, we’ve worked this land with care, passion, and a belief in doing things the right way—naturally, sustainably, and with pride.

The Copas family continues to work on and manage the farm today. We're proud to be a family-run farm that still believes in personal service, traditional methods, and putting quality above all else.

At Copas Farm Shop, farming is still personal. Every decision we make—from how we care for our animals to the food we stock—is guided by one question: is this good enough for our own family table?

Our animals are raised with respect and the highest welfare standards, living naturally and well, because we believe great food begins with a good life. By keeping things hands-on, supporting independent producers, and keeping our supply chain short and transparent, we stay true to our values—and to you.

Our Famous Turkeys

The Copas story began with fruit farming and arable fields. But in 1957, a teenage Tom Copas Sr. was gifted 153 turkey poults—a gesture that would set the course for generations to come. What started as a small seasonal venture, has grown into one of the most respected names in high-welfare, slow-grown turkeys in the UK.

Over the years, the farm expanded to include other livestock—chickens, geese, beef cattle, and lambs—always raised with the same care and commitment to welfare. Our goal has never been to be the biggest. We simply want to be the best at what we do.
